No big brands, no critic's scores, just outstanding, authentic wines that are not yet on the radar of the influencers. It's our speciality. We travel the world to discover the up-and-coming wineries and bring back their wine while they are still great values.

Wine Authorities wine shops in Durham and Raleigh, NC are what wine shops should be in a perfect world. Focused on two seemingly opposing philosophies that we are able to harmoniously integrate, the shops are nerdy, but not snobby. Playful but serious. They have exceptionally friendly customer service for all types of customers, while also holding to a strict selection based on integrity, value, quality and authenticity.

You will find no corporately owned wineries in our stores. Instead, we only work with small, family-owned winegrowers from around the world. We sell no wines over $50, choosing to focus on wine drinkers, instead of wine collectors. If surprising your guests with an outstanding wine with which they are unfamiliar is your goal, then we can do that, and under budget.
